Two of the nation’s top NASCAR series will be in action this weekend at Sonoma Raceway. The Xfinity teams will be racing at the Northern California road course for only the second time, with Aric Almirola having won last season’s Xfinity race at Sonoma. On the other hand, Cup teams will be racing at Sonoma for the 35th time, with Martin Truex Jr. being the defending winner. Additionally, ARCA Menards Series West teams will also be in action for a Friday afternoon race.

The weather forecast for the races looks promising. On Friday, there will be mostly sunny skies with a high of 79 degrees and wind gusts of 10-15 mph. Saturday will have similar conditions with no chance of rain at the start of the Xfinity race. Sunday will continue with sunny skies and a high of 79 degrees, again with no chance of rain at the start of the Cup race.

The schedule for the Sonoma Raceway weekend is as follows: On Friday, ARCO Menards Series West teams will open their garage doors at 10:30 am to prepare for their afternoon race. The Xfinity Series and Cup Series practices will follow later in the day, wrapping up with an evening ARCO Menards Series West race. On Saturday, garage doors open once again at 11 am for both Xfinity and Cup Series drivers to practice before qualifying later in the day and running their respective races in the evening hours. Finally, on Sunday, garage doors open at 12:30 pm to welcome fans to watch as Cup Series drivers take to the track in a 3:30 pm race that is sure to thrill NASCAR fans alike!
