The football club Inter is in negotiations to acquire goalkeeper Josep Martinez from Genoa. However, the talks have taken a new turn as Manchester United and Bournemouth are also interested in the player. Initially, Inter was looking to secure Martinez for €10m plus Italy Under-21 international midfielder Gaetano Oristanio. However, Venezuela has expressed interest in Oristanio as part of their discussions to sell Tenner Tessmann to Inter.

Because of this, Inter and Genoa are now looking to finalize a deal for Martinez using only cash, valuing him at around €15m. The 26-year-old goalkeeper had a successful debut season in Serie A after helping Genoa earn promotion. He is currently seen as the backup to Switzerland international Yann Sommer, but is expected to take over the starting role in the future.

Inter’s move for Martinez could see him replace current number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, who has been linked with a move away from the club. The acquisition of Martinez would also strengthen Inter’s backline and improve their chances of winning silverware next season.
