Si Richardson, a member of the GCN team, has faced numerous gravel challenges throughout the years, participating in some of the most prestigious events in the world. From the Steamboat Classic, now known as SBT GRVL, to a 400-mile ultra-endurance gravel event, and even an attempt to break a 220-mile record in the King Alfred Way Challenge, Si has taken on some major challenges. However, it was time to push his limits even further by seeing if he had what it takes to qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships.

Qualifying for the Gravel World Championships may sound like a distant dream, but it is actually more achievable than one might think. Any amateur cyclist has the opportunity to qualify by entering one of the UCI Gravel World Series events. Established in 2022, the Gravel World Series consists of races that serve as qualifying events for the World Championships. Those who finish in the top 25% of riders in their age category earn qualification. With 26 events this year, there are plenty of chances for everyday riders to earn a spot in the World Championships.
