Punky Pets Pawlor, a Las Vegas-based grooming salon, is taking action to help homeless pet owners keep their furry friends safe during the scorching summer months. The salon is offering free grooming services to those in need, in partnership with organizations such as the Animal Foundation and Street Dogz.

Manager Brandy Glasgow explains that matted fur can be a serious threat to pets during the summer heat. “Matted fur acts like a blanket, preventing air circulation and potentially causing heat stroke in dogs,” she says. “It’s like wearing a dense fur coat that cannot be removed, making it even more challenging for dogs to cool down.”

To address this issue, Punky Pets Pawlor has launched a program called KEPPT (Keep Every Pet Pampered Today), which provides vouchers for grooming services to those who cannot afford them on their own. The salon also collaborates with Street Dogz, a non-profit organization that offers a range of services including grooming, pet food and supplies, boarding, and medical care for animals in need.

In addition to these initiatives, Punky Pets Pawlor hosts free pet grooming events on the first Saturday of every month at the Care Complex in Las Vegas. Those interested in contributing can also donate to help cover grooming costs for individuals who are unable to afford the services on their own.

By offering free grooming services and collaborating with partner organizations, Punky Pets Pawlor is making a difference in the lives of pets and their owners in Southern Nevada. Their commitment to animal welfare and community support ensures that all pets receive the care they need to thrive.
