The U23 racers completed their race yesterday, paving the way for the Elites to take on the course in Crans Montana. The fifth XCC race of 2024 featured 20 minutes of intense racing, presenting a different challenge compared to the previous race in Val di Sole. The loose and muddy terrain made it more similar to a shorter XCO event.

In the women’s race, Puck Pieterse claimed her second consecutive win, dominating the event in Switzerland. Despite facing tough competition from Anne Tauber and Alessandra Keller, Pieterse managed to fend off a last-lap attack from Tauber and cross the finish line four seconds ahead of Keller.

In the men’s race, Tom Pidcock overcame significant obstacles to win after starting from last place on the first lap. Pidcock displayed incredible strength and skill as he worked his way through the pack over five laps, claiming victory by just two seconds over Julian Schelb. Luca Braidot finished in third place, six seconds behind Schelb.

The full results for both the Elite Women and Men will be available shortly.
