As the holiday season approaches, the risk of infectious diseases spreading increases due to increased travel and large gatherings. Doctor Bach Thi Chinh, the Medical Director of VNVC Vaccination System, has emphasized the importance of disease prevention measures for children during this time. Common illnesses like dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, whooping cough and others are currently being reported in various localities.

Children are particularly vulnerable to these illnesses as they prepare for summer vacations and spend more time in crowded or unfamiliar environments. Respiratory diseases such as influenza, measles, chickenpox, whooping cough and diphtheria are spread through droplets from coughs, sneezes and contaminated surfaces. On the other hand, fecal-oral route transmission can spread diseases such as hand, foot and mouth disease, cholera, typhoid rotavirus and polio.
