The 2024-25 Premier League fixtures are set to be released on Tuesday at 09:00 BST, and you can find them on the BBC Sport website and app as soon as they are made public. Chief football news reporter Simon Stone provides some key aspects to look out for in the upcoming season.

One significant aspect to consider is matches around European games. With four clubs in the Champions League and two in the Europa League, teams will have eight first-phase games instead of the usual six. Managers typically do not like long trips before or after European fixtures, so this will be carefully evaluated.

Another important aspect is matches around international breaks. There are breaks scheduled in September, October, November, and March, with the first three being for Nations League fixtures. World Cup qualifiers in Europe begin in March 2025, while other regions have games in all four windows. Both England managers and club bosses prefer to avoid major league matches before international breaks and are wary of key matches immediately after breaks due to players returning late.

Due to the mid-August start, there will be no winter break in the upcoming season. The Premier League has assured clubs that they will not be required to play twice in less than 60 hours over the Christmas and New Year period. Additionally, there will be no Christmas Eve fixture in the 2024-25 season, and the FA Cup third round has been moved to the second weekend of January, allowing for four rounds of fixtures over the festive period.

A notable change for the new season is the presence of new managers at four Premier League clubs – Brighton, Chelsea, Liverpool, and West Ham – with Leicester yet to announce their new manager
