For decades, Electrogenic, a British company, has been providing conversion kits for turning classic cars into electric vehicles. Their latest offering is the DeLorean DMC-12, a legendary car recognized from the film series Back to the Future. Despite being out of production for over 40 years, the DeLorean remains an icon in the car industry.

Those who choose to convert their DeLorean into an electric vehicle will receive a powerful 160 kW electric motor that cuts acceleration time in half, allowing the car to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds. The conversion process is non-invasive and completely reversible, with no need for cutting or modifying the chassis. The addition of new technologies adds only 40 kilograms to the original weight of the vehicle.

The conversion kit, including installation costs, ranges from 77,000 to 100,000 euros. It’s important to note that the car should not be connected to lightning as depicted in the movie.

Electrogenic’s focus on preserving classic cars while making them more environmentally friendly has earned them recognition in the industry. In addition to their DeLorean conversion kit, they offer a range of conversion kits for other classic cars. By converting these vehicles into electric ones, Electrogenic helps reduce carbon emissions and create more sustainable transportation options while still honoring these beloved classics’ legacy.
