Georgia’s recruiting efforts received a significant boost with the commitment of five-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson, who is ranked as the No. 17 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle by 247Sports. Gibson is considered the top edge rusher in his class and his commitment helped Georgia rise to the No. 4 spot in the recruiting rankings, following Ohio State, Alabama, and Notre Dame.

Gibson, a native of Warner Robins, Georgia, is now the 15th member of Georgia’s 2025 recruiting class, joining other highly regarded prospects like five-star TE Elyiss Williams, five-star linebacker Zayden Walker, four-star edge Darren Ikinnagbon, and four-star LB Jadon Perlotte. Since head coach Kirby Smart’s arrival in 2015, Georgia has consistently secured top-10 recruiting classes each year, building a strong foundation for the future success of the program.

Initially committed to USC, Gibson changed his mind and decided to commit to Georgia instead despite previously considering Ohio State as well. The success of Georgia’s recruiting classes in recent years is evident with the Bulldogs landing multiple five-star defenders in previous classes and consistently ranking among the top recruiting classes nationally. Smart and his coaching staff have shown a commitment to building a strong team through recruiting efforts and have been successful in attracting top talent to Georgia.

The addition of Gibson to their impressive recruiting class further solidifies Georgia’s status as a powerhouse in college football.
