Porzingis is a crucial player for the Celtics, and his return could greatly enhance their chances of reaching the NBA Finals. The team has been cautious with his recovery, prioritizing his long-term health over rushing him back onto the court. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Porzingis could potentially make his return in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Indiana Pacers.

Porzingis sustained a calf injury during Game 4 of the opening-round series against the Miami Heat, and since then, he has been sidelined and has not played in any games. Despite missing out on the series against the Cleveland Cavaliers and the first two games of the conference finals, Porzingis has been gradually ramping up his on-court activities in hopes of a return.

The Celtics have won games without Porzingis, but his return would be significant. He averages 20.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this season, making him a key player for the team. If Porzingis is unable to return in Game 4, there is still a possibility he could make his comeback in Game 5. With top seed in Eastern Conference, Boston is aiming for NBA Finals spot and having Porzingis back on court would be beneficial to reach that goal.
