The Portland Sea Dogs clinched their fifth straight win with a thrilling 7-3 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in Manchester, New Hampshire. Roman Anthony’s inside-the-park home run in the sixth inning was a highlight of the game, and Nick Decker added to the excitement by hitting a home run in the same inning, helping Portland take a commanding 4-0 lead.
Tyler Miller scored an RBI double in the second inning, and Alex Binelas followed suit with an RBI single in the fifth. Despite New Hampshire scoring once in the sixth and twice in the seventh to narrow the gap to one run, the Sea Dogs pulled away by scoring three runs in the top of the ninth. Elih Marrero’s two-run single was crucial for Portland’s victory, while Decker added two more RBIs to seal it.
Wikelman Gonzalez pitched three scoreless innings with just one hit, three strikeouts, and one walk. Christopher Troye followed suit with three innings that allowed one run on three hits while striking out five and walking two to earn the win. Felix Cepeda closed out the game with his 12th save of the season, pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings.
