Porsche has unveiled a new hybrid version of its iconic sports car, the 911 Carrera GTS. This model will join the brand’s existing range of plug-in hybrid vehicles, which includes the Panamera e-Hybrid and Cayenne e-Hybrid. Unlike previous hybrid models, the 911 Carrera GTS will not be a plug-in hybrid that requires the use of an EV charger or the vehicle’s engine to power the batteries.

Instead, this new model features an electric motor integrated into the vehicle’s eight-speed transmission, delivering up to 532 horsepower. This represents an 11% increase in power compared to the current Carrera GTS model. In addition to the hybrid powertrain, the car will come with a refreshed design, updated interior, and improved aerodynamics. The T-Hybrid system and electric exhaust gas turbocharger further enhance the vehicle’s performance.

Frank Moser, Porsche’s vice president of corporate quality, expressed excitement about the unique hybrid system developed for the 911 Carrera GTS. The car is designed to seamlessly blend electric power from the motor with energy generated through braking and the engine.
