At the G7 summit held in southern Italy, Pope Francis took part in one-on-one meetings with leaders from various countries including the United States, Ukraine, India, Kenya, France, Turkey, Canada, and Brazil. This marked a historic moment as it was the first time that a Pope had addressed a G7 summit and engaged in bilateral meetings with world leaders before and after his speech.

Pope Francis used his address at the summit to discuss critical topics such as the threat and promise of artificial intelligence, the ‘techno-human condition,’ and human versus algorithmic decision-making. Before delivering his speech, he met with several leaders including the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, the President of Ukraine, the President of France, and the Prime Minister of Canada. Following his address, he listened to interventions from other leaders and engaged with several more including the President of Kenya, the Prime Minister of India, the President of the United States, the President of Brazil
