In recent weeks, tensions have escalated in the center of Pula as a result of an eviction attempt from business premises on Vrtlarska street. The situation quickly became volatile when a large number of cars were driven into the area, blocking access and leading to a confrontation between the police and individuals present.
As a result, tear gas was deployed by the police in an effort to disperse the crowd. However, this only led to further unrest as the tires of the towing service vehicles were punctured during the incident. Despite this setback, the authorities remained determined to carry out their duties and evict those involved.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time that such an event has taken place in this location. In November of last year, another eviction attempt was made but ultimately failed due to resistance from those being evicted. Despite this setback, there has been ongoing conflict in front of the “Porečanka” building as those being evicted continue to resist and confront authorities.
The scene remains tense as law enforcement works to ensure that order is maintained while also carrying out their responsibilities. It is hoped that a peaceful resolution can be reached soon so that all parties involved can move forward without further incidents or arrests.
