Mauricio Pochettino, despite his recent departure from Chelsea by mutual consent, has confirmed that he will fulfill his commitment to manage the Soccer Aid World XI FC against England at Stamford Bridge on June 9. The 52-year-old coach will lead the World XI FC for the second year in a row, facing an England side managed by former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard. This event has been instrumental in raising nearly £100 million for UNICEF, and Pochettino’s involvement will play a significant role in this fundraising initiative.

In a statement, Pochettino expressed his enthusiasm for participating in Soccer Aid for UNICEF and highlighted the importance of fans buying tickets to support the cause. He emphasized the incredible atmosphere of a sold-out Stamford Bridge and encouraged spectators to join the players in creating a memorable event on the field.

Pochettino will be supported by his long-term staff members Jesus Perez and Tony Jimenez, with a lineup that includes former footballers and celebrities such as Jill Scott, Karen Carney, Jermain Defoe, David James, Gary Cahill, David Seaman, Roberto Carlos, Joe Cole, and Jack Wilshere. Despite his recent departure from Chelsea where he secured a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League, Pochettino’s involvement in Soccer Aid demonstrates his commitment to charitable causes and community engagement. His departure from Chelsea came after a challenging start to the season but was followed by an impressive run of form that saw the team lose only one of their last 15 Premier League matches. Pochettino’s dedication to Soccer Aid reflects his values as a coach and his desire to make a positive impact beyond the football pitch.
