Pizza Hut, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, is introducing its first burger offering with the launch of the Cheeseburger Melt on May 14. This innovative take on the classic American burger features a thin parmesan-coated crust filled with beef, applewood-smoked bacon, onions, mozzarella and cheddar cheese. The Cheeseburger Melt will be served with Burger Sauce on the side.

Lindsay Morgan, chief marketing officer at Pizza Hut, expressed excitement about the brand’s entry into the burger market. She stated that they wanted to offer something bold and delicious for burger lovers. The Cheeseburger Melt is a portable and crunchy handheld item that oozes cheese and is made with Pizza Hut’s signature Thin N’ Crispy crust. Along with the Cheeseburger Melt, Pizza Hut offers four other flavors: Pepperoni Lover’s, Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Bacon Parmesan and Meat Lover’s. Customers can enjoy dipping their Melts into different sauces for a unique experience.

To promote the new item, Pizza Hut is encouraging customers to cheat on their usual burger chain by giving away free Cheeseburger Melts at fast-food burger chain drive thus. Customers who scan a QR code have the chance to redeem a coupon for a free Cheeseburger Melt paired with a Pepsi. Rachel Antalek, chief food innovation officer at Pizza Hut challenged customers to find a better burger and sauce experience than the Cheeseburger Melt.

The Cheeseburger Melt is also part of Pizza Hut’s new My Hut Box Offer which provides guests with two options: Melts or a two-topping Personal Pan Pizza plus a side of fries or four boneless wings and a 20 oz drink starting at $6.99 at participating locations nationwide. This new meal option offers customers convenience and great taste in one box.
