In April, Ashley Liotus was named the newest sports anchor/reporter at WTAE. Liotus had been freelancing for Channel 4 since 2022, before Emily Giangreco’s tenure.

WTAE general manager and president Charles W. Wolfertz III expressed excitement about Liotus joining the team, describing her as a perfect fit for the station. As a native Pittsburgher, Liotus is known for being a team player who is committed to maintaining the station’s high standards of excellence. Her impressive work during her two years of freelancing has earned her recognition from colleagues and viewers alike.

Before returning to Pittsburgh, Liotus worked as a reporter for WJCL-TV, a Hearst Television station in Savannah, Ga. Most recently, she contributed to pre- and post-game coverage of the Pirates and Penguins for SportsNet Pittsburgh. Liotus holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Penn State University and is a South Hills native who graduated from Baldwin High School.
