Eric Lusito, a French documentary photographer, has always been fascinated by the intersection of art, science, and history. His life-changing experience at the age of 12 when he witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall through his camera ignited a passion for capturing powerful emotions through his photography.

In the early 2000s, Eric embarked on a journey with his camera in hand to explore the other side of the wall. A chance encounter with a Czech professor led him to an abandoned military base, setting him on a path to discover the hidden world of the former Soviet bloc. His travels through countries like Ukraine, Armenia, and Kazakhstan culminated in a stunning book published by Dewi Lewis.

In 2021, a new project on research institutes in Ukraine sparked Eric’s interest, leading him to explore unique scientific installations spanning a hundred years of physics research. Despite the challenges of war, Eric persevered in capturing the essence of today’s most cutting-edge laboratories in places like Georgia, Latvia, and Uzbekistan.
