Damion Lee has decided not to exercise his $2.8 million player option with the Phoenix Suns for the 2024-25 season, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. However, he will return to the team on a one-year contract, bringing his experience and skills to help the Suns reach their goals for the upcoming season.
Lee initially entered the league as an undrafted rookie with the Atlanta Hawks in 2016. He played 15 games with the Hawks, 11 of which he started, during the 2017-18 season under then-coach Mike Budenholzer. Lee eventually joined the Golden State Warriors on a two-way contract before signing a multi-year deal in 2020. During his time with the Warriors from 2018-22, Lee played 201 games and averaged 8.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 20.6 minutes per game in the regular season. He was also part of the Warriors’ NBA championship run in 2022, contributing 2.0 points and 1.6 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per game across 16 contests.
