During its exploration of the sedimentary rocks of the western fan, Perseverance noted the presence of veins and nodules. These formations occur when water flows through a rock and minerals crystallize in cracks and empty spaces within the rock. While these features have been scarce in the margin unit, they are quite remarkable in the rocks of Bright Angel.
