Penn State is actively recruiting players for their 2025 class, and offensive linemen are a particular focus for Phil Trautwein. After official visit season, some recruits are ready to make their decisions, while others, like Malachi Goodman, are still weighing their options. Goodman, a four-star offensive lineman, has visited five schools and is now considering where he wants to play after consulting with his family and coaches.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, Goodman would be a valuable addition to Penn State’s offensive line. Currently, the team has only two offensive line commits, but they are optimistic that Bray O’Hara will transition to playing tackle. Goodman is highly ranked, sitting at No. 102 overall and 11th in his position. He plans to announce his decision in late July or August, seeking a school that focuses on development, education, and stability.

Goodman has praised James Franklin and Trautwein, indicating that Penn State feels like home to him. While the Nittany Lions are considered the favorite to land Goodman according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, they face tough competition from Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, and USC. However, the extended decision period may work in Penn State’s favor as they continue to communicate with Goodman and emphasize their program’s strengths.
