Penn State University Health Services (UHS) has recently received a full three-year reaccreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Inc. (AAAHC), with UHS being recognized for its beautiful facility, ‘super pharmacy,’ and organization of credentialing charts. This accreditation process occurs every three years and involves a written application and intensive on-site survey to verify compliance with AAAHC policies and procedures. The survey evaluates standards related to patient care, staff credentialing, risk management, and other critical areas.

Jamie Spicer, UHS compliance specialist, expressed pride and honor in being part of the team at UHS and Penn State. The accreditation was a team effort, with AAAHC commending UHS for its beautiful facility, ‘super pharmacy,’ and organization of credentialing charts.

UHS is a unit of Penn State Student Affairs that consists of over 20 board-certified clinicians and more than 100 ancillary and support staff. It provides a variety of medical services, including urgent and nonurgent care, preventive care, a full on-site pharmacy, physical therapy, imaging, lab services
