Lancaster County is facing a persistent shortage of blood supplies, and Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is taking action to address this issue. The organization has organized a series of blood drives in various locations across the county throughout the month of July. The aim of these drives is to encourage individuals to donate blood and platelets if they are able, and to ensure that the donations directly benefit the community.

To streamline the donation process, LG Health recommends that donors register beforehand either online or by phone at (717) 544-0170. Appointments can also be scheduled at LG Health’s Blood Donor Center for those looking to contribute. It is important to note that the blood collected during these drives will remain in Lancaster County and be utilized by local healthcare providers.

The blood drives will take place at various locations throughout July, including the Providence Township Building, Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, Faith Church Quarryville, and Intercourse Fire Co. These drives are crucial for maintaining an adequate supply of blood and platelets for those in need. With easy registration and convenient time slots, individuals are encouraged to participate in these blood drives to support their community and make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
