Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision to replace Shaheen Afridi as captain after just one series has left former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram disappointed. In a viral video, Akram criticized the lack of consistency and stability in leadership roles within the PCB. He mentioned that replacing Babar with Shaheen as captain and then quickly changing it back is not acceptable.

Akram further added that he and other former cricketers feel fortunate to be away from the constant criticism and politics surrounding Pakistan cricket. He mentioned that it is good to be away from such an environment as it is filled with negativity and controversies. The legendary fast bowler criticized the PCB for not consulting former players like him on crucial decisions that impact the team’s performance.

Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar also questioned the decision to appoint Babar Azam as captain in the first place, highlighting the lack of qualifications for such a crucial role.
