The hospitality areas near the 18th green at Adriatic Golf Club in Ravenna, Italy have been a hot topic during this week’s Italian Open. Employing a tactic known as backboarding, Pavan banked his approach shot off the structure and onto the green. This resulted in a favorable free drop for Pavan, allowing him to take relief and get a clear shot at the hole.

Pavan faced a difficult shot from the rough, with a spectator structure located close behind the flag. With a 30-foot putt, Pavan sank a birdie to finish the round at 2-under 69. This strong performance brought him to a total score of 7 under, putting him just three shots behind the current leaders held by four players. Despite the unique challenges posed by the hospitality areas, Pavan managed to navigate the course effectively and put himself in a competitive position for the final round.
