In response to noise complaints from local residents in Kiryat Krinitsa, the Ramat Gan municipality has made the decision to block shuttle buses from entering the Sheba Medical Complex. This decision has resulted in three bus lines being forced to change their routes and patients who rely on these buses to reach the hospital are now suffering.

According to Kalkalist, the municipality of Ramat Gan altered the bus station near the Bakum military base due to complaints from residents in Kiryat Krinitsa. The new restrictions put in place by the mayor’s office do not allow buses access to the medical complex. Hospital officials at Sheba claim that the municipality has effectively taken Sheba patients hostage.

The unregulated territory around the Katzir bus terminal led to safety concerns such as buses backing up at pedestrian crossings near kindergartens and excessive noise from drivers honking their horns day and night. After responding to complaints and installing barriers, the Ministry of Transport and Dan company providing bus services on routes 65 and 104 were not notified, resulting in buses no longer stopping at the hospital.

The hospital management has reached out to the Ministry of Transport to address the situation, as patients and employees have been forced to walk long distances or transfer to other forms of transport to reach the medical center.
