Unions representing airport managers at Paris’s Groupe ADP have threatened to strike starting in July. Their demand: a bonus to recognize the hard work of employees during the upcoming Olympic Games.

CGT, CFDT, FO, and Unsa have been advocating for resources to handle increasing air traffic and organize the Olympic and Paralympic Games for months. Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle and Orly airports see around 350,000 passengers daily during the summer months.

ADP has taken measures to ensure athletes’ smooth arrival for the Games. However, unions are calling for fair compensation for all agents working during the event, as well as a hiring plan to fill nearly 1,000 missing positions. They also want improvements in working conditions and year-round leave rights. If management does not respond by July 5th, they will file a strike notice.

The ADP management team, controlled by the State, was unable to respond immediately due to CEO Augustin de Romanet’s current role as interim manager until after the Games. Employees were previously called to strike on May 19th but caused no significant disruptions. Other sectors have successfully rallied in recent months to obtain activity bonuses in anticipation of the Olympics.
