Dalia, the mother of a girl suspected of contracting a virus, is worried about her daughter’s health. According to her, the girl was bitten in the Green Village area, and she believes that this is how she caught the virus. The hospital informed her that the virus primarily affects adults but children can also be affected.

Dalila’s daughter’s symptoms included fever, severe headaches, and a rash on her face, which led them to seek medical attention. Initially, the doctor suspected it was just a virus and sent them home. However, after the rash appeared, they went to the emergency center. Blood tests revealed low white blood cell counts, leading them to be referred to Ichilov hospital.

At Ichilov, the girl underwent more tests and started treatment for dengue fever. Despite the treatment, they are still waiting for confirmation through another serological test that it is indeed the virus. This situation has caused stress for the family as they wait for a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.

Dalia hopes that her daughter will soon recover from this illness and return to normal life without any complications or side effects from the treatment.

According to Dr. Johnson, who specializes in infectious diseases at Ichilov hospital, dengue fever is a viral disease that can affect anyone who comes into contact with an infected person or an insect bite from an infected mosquito. The symptoms may include fever, headache, joint pain, muscle pain, fatigue, skin rash on top of their hands and feet (often described as “dengue spots”), gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.

Dr. Johnson advises people who have been bitten by mosquitoes or come into contact with someone who has contracted dengue fever to seek medical attention immediately if they experience any of these symptoms.

In conclusion, Dalia’s daughter’s illness serves as a reminder of how important it is to take precautions against dengue fever during peak season in tropical areas where mosquito-borne diseases are commonplace.
