In the 2023 season, the Carolina Panthers finished with the least yards and points in the entire NFL. However, with some offseason retooling, David Kenyon of Bleacher Report ranked the Panthers’ offensive unit as the fourth most improved in the league. The team is looking to turn things around in 2024.
Despite having a rough rookie year, quarterback Bryce Young has optimism surrounding him heading into the new season. In the previous season, the Panthers struggled to score points, averaging just 13.9 points per game and having the lowest yards per play at 4.1.
To improve their offense, Carolina made some big moves in the offseason. They signed guards Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis to bolster the offensive line and acquired receiver Diontae Johnson and drafted Xavier Legette, adding to their offensive weapons. Running back Jonathon Brooks and tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders were also added to provide depth and potential long-term solutions.
The additions to the offensive line and skill positions should give Young better protection and more opportunities to make big plays. Head coach Dave Canales, known for his offensive prowess, will be tasked with integrating all the new pieces into a cohesive unit to improve on their offensive production from last season.
