The Green Bay Packers have narrowed down their three-way kicking competition to just two kickers. Anders Carlson and Greg Joseph will now compete for the job, with Jack Podlesny having been waived.

Carlson, the incumbent, was drafted by the Packers in the sixth round in 2023 but struggled in his rookie season, missing six field goals and five extra points. On the other hand, Joseph missed six field goals and two extra points for the Vikings last season, his fifth in the NFL.

Podlesny is a first-year player out of the University of Georgia who originally signed as an undrafted rookie with the Vikings in 2023 before being cut from Minnesota’s roster during training camp. Despite never having kicked in a regular-season game, Podlesny had a successful college career at Georgia, making 82.4 percent of his field goals.

With only Carlson and Joseph remaining in the competition, the Packers will soon determine who will be their starting kicker for the upcoming season. The battle between these two experienced kickers will surely be intense as they strive to secure their jobs with Green Bay.

In conclusion, Green Bay Packers have whittled down their three-way kicking competition to just two players: Anders Carlson and Greg Joseph. Jack Podlesny has been waived after failing to make it into Minnesota’s roster during training camp. With both Carlson and Joseph struggling last season with missed kicks, it’s anyone’s game as they compete for Green Bay’s kicking job for this upcoming season.
