On Saturday, the Baltimore Orioles made a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers to acquire reliever Thyago Vieira. The Orioles also received minor league pitcher Aneuris Rodriguez from Milwaukee in the deal. In exchange, the Brewers received minor league right-hander Garrett Stallings from the Orioles.

Vieira, a 31-year-old right-hander, had a 5.64 ERA in 16 appearances with Milwaukee this season before being designated for assignment on Monday. He has a career record of 2-2 with two saves and a 6.18 ERA in 41 big league appearances, having previously played for Seattle and the Chicago White Sox. The Orioles hope that this trade will strengthen their bullpen and provide them with additional pitching depth moving forward.

Stallings, a 26-year-old pitcher, was a fifth-round pick by the Los Angeles Angels in the 2019 amateur draft. He posted a 5.67 ERA in 11 games (including four starts) for Triple-A Norfolk this season. The Orioles are excited to add him to their pitching rotation and see how he performs at the major league level.
