The Orienteering World Cup has now moved from Olten, Switzerland to Genoa, Italy for the next round of competitions. This weekend’s events will feature a sprint race on Saturday and a sprint relay on Sunday, both taking place on the edge of the Mediterranean. The sprint arena in Genoa Voltri on Saturday is located on the seafront, while the sprint relay arena in Nervi Park on Sunday is situated to the east of Genoa city center.

In contrast to the previous weekend’s sprint races, the competitions in Genoa will involve more climbing for the athletes and a mix of park and urban orienteering. Following Round 1, Tuomas Heikkilä from Finland is in the lead for the men’s World Cup rankings, while Natalia Gemperle and Simona Aebersold from Switzerland are tied for the top spot in the women’s standings.

High-quality TV broadcasts will be available on IOF TV and various national TV channels such as SVT in Sweden, YLE in Finland, and CzTV Sport in Czechia. Commentary will be provided in English, French, and German languages by experienced commentators.
