As OpenAI continues to advance its technology, the company has announced the launch of its latest updated GPT-4o AI model. This new model boasts faster response times and increased capabilities compared to its predecessors, allowing it to provide responses in as little as 320 milliseconds for text, audio, and image inputs. While this is a significant achievement, OpenAI acknowledges that there is still much work to be done in order to achieve true Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

To address the latest developments in the field and ensure the security of its projects and operations, OpenAI has established a new Security Committee. Led by AI technology experts and the CEO, this committee will evaluate and enhance existing security processes and safeguards. It aims to provide recommendations to the OpenAI Board on critical security decisions pertaining to the company’s initiatives.

Over the next 90 days, the Security Committee will assess and refine the company’s security measures, collaborating with technical and security experts to support this effort. Following this evaluation period, the committee will present its recommendations to the OpenAI Board, with a commitment to transparency by publicly sharing updates on the implemented security measures.

OpenAI’s overarching goal is to ensure consistency in security measures across its new technologies. By instituting a Security Committee and collaborating with industry experts, the company aims to fortify its security protocols and uphold the integrity of its innovative projects while working towards AGI.
