Recently, a marine biologist from James Cook University, Nicholas Lubitz, encountered an unusual event that he had never experienced before. He described it as a one-in-a-million occurrence. According to him, when certain animals are stressed, they may vomit their food, especially if the food does not agree with them. In this case, he believed that the echidna regurgitated by the tiger shark was not sitting well with the animal.

Echidnas are typically considered land-based creatures; however, they have been observed swimming among mangroves off islands in northern Queensland. Dr. Lubitz mentioned that echidnas can swim quite well, using their noses as snorkels. This unexpected behavior showcases the adaptability and versatility of these fascinating creatures.

Tiger sharks are known for their indiscriminate eating habits and consume a wide variety of food including turtles, birds, sea snakes, stingrays, and even other sharks. They have also been known to attack surfers and beachgoers. In some bizarre instances, tiger sharks have swallowed strange objects like license plates, tin cans, bones, car tires, and even a small television. Their voracious appetite and eclectic taste in prey make them formidable predators in the ocean.
