As predicted by Brad Crawford of 247Sports, the Oklahoma Sooners are set to finish in ninth place in the Southeastern Conference with a final record of 8-4. In his analysis of all 16 teams in the SEC, Crawford believes that Oklahoma will have a strong start by defeating Tennessee and Auburn in their first two games. However, he warns that the pressure of being unbeaten and ranked in the top 10 will wear on the Sooners as they face tough opponents like Texas, Missouri, Alabama, and LSU later in the season.

While a ninth-place finish may initially seem disappointing, Crawford’s analysis shows that it is a reflection of the tough competition in the SEC. The predictions include losses to strong teams like Texas, Missouri, Alabama, and LSU, resulting in an 4-4 record in conference play. Despite this, Crawford still believes that Oklahoma will finish in the top 25 overall, demonstrating the strength of the new SEC lineup.

An 8-4 record in the SEC is considered challenging due to the high level of competition in the conference. The tough schedule will test Oklahoma each week as they face teams with similar or better talent. Crawford also predicts that Texas Longhorns will finish first in the conference with an 11-1 record, highlighting the fierce competition that Oklahoma will face as they transition to their new conference.
