It is always heartwarming to see current and former Ohio State football players actively involved in the community. One such player who stands out is running back TreVeyon Henderson. Despite the belief that he would enter the NFL draft after last season, he made the decision to return along with many of his draft-eligible teammates in hopes of achieving something special this year.

Henderson is not only an electrifying player on the field but is also known for being a great person off the field. Recently, he hosted a youth football camp at Olentangy High School in a suburb of Columbus. Joining him were teammate Gee Scott Jr., Olentangy coach Wade Bartholomew, and the Centric Sports Group. The camp was more than just about football; it incorporated aspects of faith and being a holistic individual, reflecting Henderson’s values and beliefs.

According to Jacob Byrd, the owner of Centric Sports Group, Henderson was actively involved in planning the camp to ensure it aligned with his vision of being more than just a football event. He wanted to share his faith and values with the attendees, providing inspiration and mentorship along with football skills. Henderson distributed wristbands with his life verse, 2 Corinthians 5:7, and emphasized the importance of walking by faith, not by sight.

The camp was a success, with Henderson engaging with the kids, taking photos, speaking, signing autographs, and spreading positivity. It is heartening to see players like Henderson serve as great ambassadors for the Ohio State football program and give back to the community in meaningful ways. This commitment to both excellence on the field and character off the field sets a positive example for others to follow.
