Ohio State football is dominating the recruiting game this offseason, with the team securing the top spot on On3 football’s 2025 recruiting class rankings. Currently, the Buckeyes have secured commitments from 12 players in the 2025 class, including three five-star recruits, seven four-star recruits, and two three-star recruits.

One of the key areas that Ohio State has focused on in their 2025 recruiting class is edge rusher. The team has already secured commitments from Zahir Mathis and London Merritt, showing their commitment to strengthening their defense.

Another promising edge rusher target that Ohio State is actively pursuing is Mariyon Dye. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound player from Elkhart Central High School in Indiana recently named the Buckeyes among his top eight schools. Dye has already visited Ohio State and has another visit scheduled for June 14th.

Ohio State is in a strong position to land Dye, with three On3 recruiting insiders predicting that they are the favorite to secure his commitment. Other top programs like Georgia, Michigan, LSU, Florida State, Penn State, Tennessee, and Purdue are also competing for Dye’s services.
