For the past eight consecutive years, NYU Langone Health has been recognized for its commitment to quality and patient safety, earning an “A” on every Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade since the fall of 2020. This top grade applies to Tisch Hospital and Kimmel Pavilion in Manhattan, NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn. The hospital is the only one in the borough with an A rating.

Robert I. Grossman, MD, CEO of NYU Langone Health and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, attributes this achievement to the exceptional work of the dedicated patient care teams. He emphasizes that NYU Langone hospitals are the safest places to receive care and maintains a consistently high standard of care across all locations.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, evaluates hospitals twice a year and assigns grades based on their performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections, and other patient harms. NYU Langone’s top grades from various national agencies reflect its ongoing commitment to quality and safety. The hospital has been named the No. 1 hospital in the nation for quality and patient safety by Vizient Inc., appears on U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals Honor Roll,” and earned five stars for safety, quality, and patient experience from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
