Nuvance Health, the operator of Norwalk Hospital, has recently opened its first urgent care facility in the city. Located at 205 Main St., Suite 7, the Nuvance Health-GoHealth Urgent Care is conveniently situated about 2 miles from the hospital. As the medical director of Nuvance Health-GoHealth, Dr. Reed Idriss emphasized the importance of easy access to affordable, high-quality care in fostering healthy communities. By establishing patient-centered locations within neighborhoods, communities gain access to personalized healthcare services in their daily lives.
This new urgent care facility marks the sixth Nuvance Health-GoHealth location and the second in Fairfield County. Earlier this year, facilities opened in Carmel, N.Y. and North Stamford, with more planned for Fairfield County later in the year. The goal is to provide a convenient option for patients seeking diagnosis and treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries in their own neighborhoods. Operating from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the Norwalk urgent care facility caters to patients aged six months and older and offers services for maladies such as the flu, earaches, insect bites, sprains, simple fractures, eye injuries, and cuts requiring stitches. Additionally, patients can be referred to other providers within the Nuvance Health network for further care if needed. The expansion of urgent care facilities is part of Nuvance Health’s commitment to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to the community.
