McLeod Health recently held a graduation ceremony for the second class of its Nurse Residency Program. This program is designed to help new graduate nurses transition into their professional roles by providing workshops and clinical experiences. The program utilizes a structured curriculum that helps new nurses become competent, confident professionals.

The Nurse Residency Program (NRP) includes six monthly seminars and an evidence-based project, with each Nurse Resident being part of a cohort led by a facilitator who serves as a mentor. New Graduate Nurses are defined as nurses with one year or less of experience as a Registered Nurse. The NRP aims to support new nurses in their development and provide them with the tools they need to succeed in their roles.

Seventy-five Nurse Residents from McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, and McLeod Regional Medical Center were honored for their accomplishments during the graduation ceremony. Graduates of the program are well-equipped to provide high-quality care to patients and contribute to the healthcare team. The celebration highlighted the hard work and dedication of the Nurse Residents and their commitment to ongoing learning and growth in their profession.
