In recent news, Novant Health has announced layoffs at several of their locations in North and South Carolina. The Indian Land, SC location at 6237 Carolina Commons Drive will see 90 employees laid off effective Aug. 25, while the Winston-Salem location at 101 North Cherry Street will also experience layoffs on the same date, with 81 employees being let go.

The positions affected by these layoffs include analytics developers, data engineers, and software developers. It is worth noting that the employees impacted by the layoffs are not represented by a union and received a 60-day notice. Novant Health has released a statement explaining that these changes are part of their new IT model, which involves shifting some services to an external partner. As a result, fewer than 300 team members or less than 0.8% of the nearly 40,000 positions in the health system are affected by these changes. Some affected team members may have the opportunity to join external partners or transition to roles within Novant Health. The company is providing resources to ease the transition for those impacted.

Novant Health is making these changes in order to scale their resources and continue investing in creating a healthier future for the people and communities they serve. They are grateful for the service of the impacted team members and are working to support them during this transition period.
