Emma Raducanu is set to face Katie Boulter in her first WTA semi-final since 2022. The opponent she was originally scheduled to play, Fran Jones, withdrew from their last-eight match in the Nottingham Open due to a shoulder injury. Jones cited the need to prioritize her health with Wimbledon just around the corner.

Katie Boulter, the defending champion and British number one, earned her spot in the semis by defeating Poland’s Magdalena Frech in a straight set victory. Despite missing out on the French Open in order to focus on her fitness before Wimbledon, Raducanu has been playing well in Nottingham, where she defeated Ena Shibahara and Daria Snigur in previous matches.

The match between Raducanu and Boulter will take place on center court after the quarter-final between Ons Jabeur and Karolina Pliskova. The day’s play was delayed due to bad weather but resumed in the afternoon. On court one, unseeded players Diane Parry from France and Kimberly Birrell from Australia are also competing in the last eight.

Both Raducanu and Boulter are looking forward to advancing to the final and continuing their strong performances in the tournament. The young British talent will have a chance to showcase their skills against each other in this exciting semi-final matchup.
