Wolves are close to finalizing the loan signing of Celta Vigo striker Jorgen Strand Larsen. The 24-year-old Norwegian will undergo a medical examination on Monday before completing the move for an initial loan fee of 3m euros (£2.5m). Wolves will then have the option to make the signing permanent for 27m euros (£23m) next summer.

Larsen has had an impressive career since making his debut in 2020, scoring three goals in 14 appearances for Norway. Last season, he scored a total of 16 goals for both club and country, including 13 goals in the league while playing for Celta Vigo in La Liga, where the team finished 14th.

Before joining Celta Vigo, Larsen began his career at Sarpsborg in his home country before making a move to Dutch club Groningen. During his time at Groningen, he scored 24 goals in 67 appearances before being transferred to Celta Vigo for a reported fee of 11m euros (£9.3m) in 2022. He has since scored 18 goals in 74 games for the Spanish club.

In addition to Larsen, Wolves have also signed winger Rodrigo Gomes from Braga on a five-year deal and teenage right-back Pedro Lima is set to join the team from Brazilian side Sport Recife on July 1st. These signings are part of Wolves’ efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season as they look to compete for promotion back into the Premier League
