The Northport High School Powdered Wigs Musical Theater team had a fantastic night at the Hunting-Tony Awards held at the Paramount in Huntington. The team won several awards, including Best Costumes in a Play for “Shakespeare’s Dead Dudes” and “Shakespeare’s Dead Dames”, as well as Best Ensemble in a Musical for “The Prom: School Edition”. Makayla Connolly was awarded Best Lead Actress in a Musical for her outstanding performance.

The team received other nominations, including Nate Clancy for Supporting Actor in a Play, Sarah Pierce for Supporting Actress in a Play, Francis Dentrone for Male Vocalist and Lead Actor in a Musical, Jacob Karp for Supporting Actor in a Musical, and Cara Scamardella for Featured Actress in a Musical. The team was also nominated for Best Scenery and Orchestra Pit in a Musical, as well as Best Technical Production for both a Musical and a Play, and Best Musical.
