Northeastern baseball player Tyler MacGregor and Hofstra pitcher Carlos Martinez were named Players of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for their outstanding performances in CAA Baseball Weekly Awards on May 20th, 2024.

MacGregor, a senior from Peabody, Mass., had an impressive week with a .667 batting average, seven doubles, two home runs, and 11 RBI’s. He hit safely in all four games and drove in at least two runs in each one. Against UMass Lowell, he went 4-for-6 with two doubles, two homers, and four RBI’s. In the game against Stony Brook, he was 8-for-12 with five doubles and seven RBI’s.

Martinez, a sophomore from College Point, N.Y., helped Hofstra secure a CAA Tournament berth by limiting Monmouth to just one run over six innings. He struck out six batters and retired the first 11 batters he faced before allowing just four hits. Martinez now has a 5-1 record with a 1.24 ERA in CAA play.

Northeastern outfielder Ryan Gerety was chosen as the Rookie of the Week after batting .500 with four hits and a walk in two starts for Northeastern during CAA Baseball Weekly Awards on May 20th, 2024. In both games he played in this week he went 2-for-4 and stole two bases for his team.
