Nicolo Barella, the Italian international, recently celebrated winning the 2024 Serie A title with Inter Milan on April 22. The Serie A champions announced on Tuesday that Barella has extended his contract with Inter Milan until 2029.

Expressing his joy and gratitude, Barella stated on Inter’s website, “I am extremely happy and moved to extend my contract with Inter for a number of years. I am truly proud to be able to keep fighting for the colors of this great Club.” He also mentioned his belief in the project and his eagerness to sign before the European tournament.

Barella is one of the few players from the Euro 2020-winning squad included in coach Luciano Spalletti’s plans for the upcoming Euro 2024, set to kick off in Germany on Friday. Although he missed Italy’s first training session due to a muscle issue from a recent friendly match against Bosnia-Herzegovina, Barella is expected to start for Italy in their opening match against Albania on June 15.

Throughout last season, Barella was a key player for Inter Milan under coach Simone Inzaghi, as they clinched the Serie A title with an impressive 94 points from 38 matches. Having joined Inter Milan in 2019 from Cagliari, Barella has accumulated 235 appearances and won two Scudettos and two Italian cups during his time with the club.
