Cam Sutton, a former Detroit Lions cornerback, has yet to turn himself in five days after being released from the team’s front office following his arrest for domestic battery by strangulation. The 29-year-old was let go just 24 hours after a warrant was issued for his arrest in Florida.

Detroit plans to void Sutton’s $10.5 million in guaranteed money for the 2024 season, but speculation is growing about his well-being as he has not surfaced since the news of his arrest warrant broke online. There are concerns about whether he has harmed himself or others. The NFL owners meeting is happening this week, and questions will be asked of both the Lions and the Steelers, where Sutton began his career.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has reportedly reached out to Sutton but declined to comment on their conversation. Sutton was drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft and has played in 101 games over his seven-year career. In his first season with Detroit in 2023, he appeared in 17 regular games, posting 65 combined tackles, four tackles for loss, six pass defenses, and one interception. Despite a challenging season, there were hopes that Sutton would bounce back with the addition of new defensive backs to the Lions’ roster.
