Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed out on earning his $750,000 workout bonus, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late for him to start preparing for the 2024 season. Despite his absence, Jackson returned to OTAs on Tuesday, showing his commitment to improving for the upcoming season.

As a two-time league MVP, Jackson signed a lucrative five-year, $260 million contract last year, which includes workout bonuses in 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027. While it remains unclear why he was absent from the workouts, it is worth noting that they are voluntary for players. Most NFL starting quarterbacks choose to attend, unless circumstances prevent them from being present.

Unfortunately for Jackson, missing out on the $750,000 workout bonus for 2024 means he will not be able to earn it. This is not a fine, but rather a consequence of not meeting the necessary conditions for payment. However, this setback does not deter him from focusing on improving his performance and readiness for the upcoming season. He can still use this experience as motivation to work harder and achieve even greater success in the future seasons to come.
