Jets cornerback Tae Hayes, 26, was arrested early Sunday morning in Alabama for marijuana possession, according to reports. The charge is a second-degree misdemeanor according to Trinity PD records. The arrest took place in Morgan County at 3:46 a.m. and Hayes was released at 5:07 a.m. after posting $300 bond.

Hayes played one game for the Jets during the 2023 season and recorded two tackles. Since going undrafted out of Appalachian State, he has played for six different teams in the NFL over four seasons. In a total of 14 games, Hayes has accumulated 18 tackles, two passes defended, one fumble recovery, and no interceptions.

A Jets spokesperson acknowledged the situation and stated that the team will not provide further comment as the legal matter is pending, as reported by ESPN’s Rich Cimini. The incident will likely affect Hayes’ future with the Jets and could have repercussions on his overall career in the NFL.
