The Commanders were left without a kicker after parting ways with Brandon McManus on Sunday. On Tuesday, they announced that they have signed former UFL kicker Ramiz Ahmed to fill the void.

During the 2024 spring season, Ahmed filled in for the injured Chris Blewitt on the Birmingham Stallions. He impressed by going 10-for-13 on field goal attempts, with a 61-yarder setting a USFL record. Ahmed has experience playing for both the Pittsburgh Maulers and New Jersey Generals in the UFL.

Although he has never attempted a field goal or PAT in the NFL, Ahmed did handle kickoffs in a game for the Packers. After going undrafted out of Nevada in 2020, he signed with the Bears but did not see any regular season action with the team. Now, Ahmed will have the opportunity to showcase his skills with the Commanders as they look to solidify their kicking game.
